Counsellor Funmi Ademilua was born in Nigeria and relocated to Austria in the 90s where she started humanitarian work at the Mother Theresa Homeless Charity in Vienna, diligently serving as a volunteer between 1993 and 1995.
With intense passion to serve humanity, she joined Caritas Vienna serving selflessly as a volunteer from 1995 to 1996 and later becoming a German translator at various refugee camps in Austria.
In 1998, she became a member of American civil rights group, the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured people (NAACP) which aims to end segregation and pursue equality for all regardless of their race, ethnicity, and religion serving as core Initiator and Treasurer of the group for two years. She further partook in the “global cultural event” coordinated by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
She is a certified Counsellor and member of a number of prestigious professional bodies including United Nations Global Compact, Association of Holistic Complementary Practitioners, and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, Lewisham Counselling & Counsellors Training Associate, the Association of Greenwich Governors and Lewisham Safer Neighbourhood Team, Lewisham Police Stop and Search Scrutiny Group.
She conceived the The Good Samaritan Foundation (TGSF) idea in 2010 from her passion for humanity after many years of volunteering across Europe. TGSF is an NGO registered in the UK and Nigeria with aims to cover young people’s social and educational needs by providing life skills and professional development through motivational interactions, advocacy and youth involvement activities in the community. TGSF intends to empower youth in the UK and further join forces to fight poverty and support Boko Haram victims in Nigeria/Africa.
Counsellor Funmi is a multi-award winning youth advocate, Business woman, Activist, Philanthropist, and Motivational Speaker.
